B.C.’s hot April housing sales among factors driving growth

British Columbia’s hot real estate markets, which saw their busiest April since 2007, are among the factors helping drive expectations for the province to be an economic leader in Canada this year. The province saw 9,952 property sales cleared through the realtor-controlled Multiple Listing Service in April, the B.C. Real Estate Association reported Thursday, a 29-per-cent increase from the same month a year ago and the strongest level of sales for that month in a decade.
